wildflowers

i think sometimes we get too accustomed to the cultured blossoms in our yards and landscapes and forget to spend a little time appreciating the more subtle beauty of their wilder cousins.  this delicate bush was growing in the spot where i photographed the monarch, and i was simply amazed by its depth.  every tiny part had such amazing detail and color.  i thought it deserved an extra moment in the sun.
